STOP. ASK FOR HELP
You don't have to do everything all by
yourself. Do you?
Have you heard the saying, "Pride goeth before the
fall?" Loosely interpreted it means you may fall flat on your face if your
need to "look good" gets in the way of your body's right
to "feel GREAT."
Don't know about you, but I have been far too slooooow to
ask for help. Somewhere I learned that needing help was a sign of weakness.
So…I decided I had to do it ALL by myself. It was exhausting to take on
activities that didn't suit my personality or style.
I hated cutting the grass and weed eating, but I'd
rather eat grass than ask someone to cut it for me. It pained me to clean
the carpets and detail my car, but I did it anyway. I couldn't stand taking
care of all the minute details of my business, but I did because I didn't
want to "bother" my assistant. If I knew then what I know now, I would have
let go -- hired out, kept life a whole lot simpler and felt a whole lot
better!
Below are a few of my favorite Ask-For-Help pit-stops.
These resources have saved me countless hours of time, helped me better
identify my strengths and weaknesses, and connected with me helpful people
all around the globe.
1.
OnlineOrganizing.com
~ Locate a professional organizer, attend an
organization seminar, purchase organizing products, and read information
"how to" articles that can help you get your life in order.
2.
HOTS Survey ~ Figure out your best "style" and go for it! Personally,
I'm a "hare." In other words, I am an "idea" person who thrives on coming up
with fun and creative ideas. That is what energizes me. What I don't like is
the tedium of follow through -- talk about fatigue! Take the HOTS survey to
determine if you are a Hare, Owl, Turtle or Squirrel. You may be very
surprised by the results!
3.
