My Life on Fatigue - August '05 - A Typical Day -
I’d crawl out of
bed in the morning to see my fiancé off and then
go back to bed and sleep deeply until late
morning. Then I would have lunch, drink a couple cups of coffee while my head cleared. I’d work for a couple hours then it was time for a nap. Or, I’d end up listlessly on the couch in front of the T.V. under the guise of “taking a break.” By late afternoon I would start to perk up just in time to pick up the house a bit, walk the dog and start on dinner. By the time Michael came home I was looking busy – bustling about like any happy, productive partner. On
and off during my typical day I'd be thinking about things I
should be doing for our wedding - like getting a dress to wear -
like registering at a store - like making the guest list. One of the
things I'd think about is how I'd get so much done just as soon as
... That's the thing about fatigue - it turns everything grey. It
sucks the joy - the air - the precious present out of everything.
“I felt like I
was living a lie – I was ashamed and miserable.
I didn’t tell him what was going on because I
didn’t understand it myself.
Had less and less
energy to keep up with my business. I had
launched a successful radio show called "The
Get Ready for Love! Show" but as
I lost my get up and go it went "on hold."
Business opportunities, inspirations and colleagues
faded away because of I was disappointed in myself. I kept missing out on opportunities I’d worked so hard to create. Why? Bless my friends who would keep calling! I’d only respond to calls that sounded like “Viveca, this is Lesley. I called you last week – call me I’m getting worried.”
Over time (hidden
fatigues
creeps up on you over time) I dropped out of the
activities I enjoyed. I stopped going to Salsa
Class - The Shame & The Fear - Am I the problem?
I assumed there
was something wrong with me morally, not
physically. Women - we're so hard on ourselves.
I was old. This is how it felt when you were past the prime of your life ...
First, I moved to
a new state and left my regular MD behind. SHE was the
one who’d told me that nothing was wrong I just
needed to
Next, my trusted
"healer" died. I had counted on her for herbs,
wise counsel and energy work that had always
made me feel better.
Next , my
girlfriend Marci
told me about a couple magazines I had to get.
One was called Women's World. She said it
always had great information on health and
fatigue. It had never occurred to me that other
women felt like me! I thought I was so unique!
Long story,
short.
I
ran out and bought both those magazines and started
researching on the internet. I started
a chat topic in the
Kept
reading, researching, chatting and changing health habits,
lifestyle habits, and spiritual habits –
integrating one thing at a time …
Progress not perfection. I
am alive again! I have days when I felt GREAT & good & "fine" &
blah;
This
journey is like a staircase - each step leads to
the next and there is always something new to
learn and apply vs. Another Turning Point - Health is a journey, not a destination
This August,
as I was "wrapping up" my recovery and it's
inspiration,
Then I noticed all the hair in my comb (10-20
hairs each time - way too many.)
Back
on the internet - back to the library - someone
recommended a book called "The
Yeast Connection Handbook."
I no
longer
suffer from fatigue - suffering was when I
didn't know what was going on or what to do.
Last night
I fell into the Adrenal Fatigue "second
wind" and stayed up till 1:00 a.m. watching that T.V.
Show
So - to
recap! It’s
been just 12
months since I first heard of Adrenal
Fatigue ... Along the way
I also uncovered Borderline Anemia,
These days I am
passionate about helping others re-cover
and re-energize. I can't help it. It is so
exciting to feel GREAT! Do you want me to scare you will all the horrible health problems that come out of denial & procrastination? Adrenal failure, onset adult diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, chronic fatigue, respiratory infections, allergies, cancers, heart attacks ... and the list goes on and becomes more and more expensive and uncomfortable ... If you don't feel GREAT - today is the right time to begin re-energizing your life. Energetically Yours! Viveca
